The main headquarters building for the Great Northern Corporation, a large, exclusive home products distributor, required a building that would function as an office, a design center, and a warehouse. The program also required that the building be designed to provide an image indicative of the quality merchandise and distinctive market.

Energy conservation and natural light was an important requirement in the design of the facility. Storefront and skylight systems utilized insulated and tinted glazing to meet specific light reflectance, transmittance and energy criteria. Exterior walls were bermed and insulated, and roof membranes were colored to reduce heat absorption.

Site work included truck service drive and loading dock area, visitor and staff parking, landscape planting, and site lighting.
