STEVENS FOREST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Steven Forest Elementary School, located in Columbia, Maryland, is an an early 1970’s public school building. Penza Bailey Architects provided design and documentation to execute a phased and occupied modernization and addition. The scope brings the school in compliance with the new state Ed Specs and Howard County Public Schools System guidelines. The program changes and additions were supported by a full MEP systems replacement, new lighting throughout, install new emergency generator and transfer switch, and new IT/Telecom cabling throughout. A separate 8,600 square foot addition houses 4 classrooms, support space and bathrooms. Additions to the vestibule, mechanical room and support space total 1,921 square feet.
