The Padonia International Elementary School addition and modernization project is complete. We're proud to say our team's collaboration with Baltimore County Public Schools and school administration enabled us to double the amount of new classrooms for the school.
Located in Cockeysville, Maryland, this project included multiple phases, an addition built first to permit students learning in eight relocatables to be placed into classrooms, and site parking during Phase 2. As an example of our design tenacity and collaboration with BCPS and school administration, we effectively doubled the amount of classrooms from what was originally planned in the feasibility study. Our thorough review and understanding of the existing documents, early in the process, netted the largest advantage to stretch the budget, when we discovered in the original documents that utilities had been installed around a playground area, with the intent of a future addition.
The new and renovated classrooms adhere to current BCPS technology specifications and support 21st Century learning techniques. With an emphasis on our Team’s Flexibility, PBA was asked by BCPS if we could condense the design schedule for SD’s and DD’s to enable BCPS to meet its funding obligations. We stepped up our project staffing and met all submission requests.
